The 2.5TB HDElement External Hard Drive Array from CalDigit is a 4-drive external hard drive enclosure. Each drive is hot swappable, making it an ideal choice for professional environments.

The included RAID controller card installs in a PCI Express x8 slot. Designed for use in professional video editing environments, the array is capable of up to 370MB/sec sustained data transfers in RAID 0 mode.
 
Features
  • • High-Performance RAID
  • When used in conjunction with the included host card, the array can be configured in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 50, 60, and JBOD. It can transfer data at up to 355MB/sec in RAID 0 mode, 268MB/sec in RAID 5, and 179MB/sec in RAID 6.
  • • Cross-Platform Compatibility
  • The array is compatible with Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux workstations. It has been approved for use with editing solutions by Matrox Video Group, Blackmagic Design, and Media 100.
  • • Expandable
  • The included CalDigit RAID card can host up to three HDElement arrays. You'll be able to add two HDElement Expansion Units to triple the total available capacity of your hard drive array. The HDElement Expansion Unit is identical in every way to the main unit, except for the fact that it does not ship with the RAID controller card.
